Steve Hislop - Superbike Champion - Remembered

If testimony were ever required with regard to the popularity of the late and former British Superbike Champion Steve Hislop, then Saturday October 1st 2005 was proof beyond doubt.
A cavalcade of motorcycles began the journey to Hawick from Central Scotland adding fans along the way until, by the time it left Jedburgh for the last ten miles, it was 1000 strong.
Many hundreds more were in attendance in Wilton Lodge Park, Hawick, to witness current Superbike Champion, John Reynolds assist Steve's mother Margaret with the unveiling of the 6 feet tall statue.
