Hello Ilya. I moved to Vietnam a few years ago and am back in America for a little while. I picked up the October issue of Black & White and read the article about you. I wish it was longer. Your photos are beautiful and to me they show that the people you make photos of trust you as several of them are very intimate. I am not surprised that these people invited you into their homes. Thank you for sharing and i look forward to hearing more about you.

HI Ilya. I love the Cuban portraits. I have a question. How did you get people to pose for you? Did you just randomly ask people on the street? Did you know someone who found people for you? I'm curious to know. Thanks!

Ilya,

Your work is great. I love Italy and the way you captured the people in their natural settings. The people show their individual personalities. Thats the way they should be captured on film.

Ilya,
Your "Santera" work is fabulous. The way you lay in the life, spirit and soul of the Santera followers is breathe taking. Masterful deep montage compositions express the individuals personal place in civilization. Great work always effects my own life, as it expands my awareness of other people place that I may never get to in my time on earth.
Thank you for doing what you do best.

Ilya - thank you. I am intrigued by the 'designed' images like the one you are showing in Gallery 14 - especially the textures - and the framing. Also - the secret life of dolls - more real, in a sense, than reality.

Hi Ilya,
Thank you for giving the opportunity to view your Spain and Portugal pictures.
I really enjoyed all photos. However, I have a few of them as a favorite: such as “Symphony, Seville”, “Rainbow at the Plaza de Espana”, “On the Ropes, Afurada”, “Night at Cathedral, Granada”, and “God is Light, Batalha”.
Also, I’ve viewed photos “Camden Aquarium”. They really amazed me. I can’t say which one is the best. All of them are gorgeous.
I hope to view more and more Art Works. I hope to see you and Helen soon.
Ira

Hi Dr. Genin,
This is Lisa Rivera in the Nuclear Dept. (From RWJ) Your work is incredible. I was sorry I could not find a particular print. It is framed in our main waiting room here at Madison. It is a water lily with shades of peach, and a wonderful reflection in the water. Written on the bottom is "Untitled" and "06". I admire it on every walk through. I would love more information on this print. Hope all is well with you. I think it's funny how I saw you more at RWJ than I do here at HCA! Have a great weekend! Lisa R.
