Just a cutting -ArtP
by ArtP

my house

Hard to believe, but this tree was just a 6" rooted cutting in a styrofoam cup when I got it... And the catalog said 'grows to eight foot" Well, it's a bit taller than that now, w the passage of time and plenty of neglect... but I did have to limb it up so the postal truck could get to the mailbox!

other sizes: small medium original auto

Thamks for looking!
btw, this is _Chamaecyparis_ 'Cyanoviridis' aka 'Boulevard' False Cypress, a semi dwarf variety.
And I've seen a sepecimen more than twice this size...

Magnificent tree - and I suspect it's not finished growing. It makes an effective way of measuring time and life itself. I think that's why some people enjoy gardening - they can watch their efforts mature over the years. Great shot.

I agree with Shirley and it would be a shame to cut but would make a fine Christmas tree if you did.

That's a good story Art! And I think that is a good looking tree to have started from a little sapling! Trees are well worth planting and your 'little guy' proved it. It looks beatiful with all that snow doesn't it. :o)
