Palouse Sunset

Looking east from high atop Steptoe Butte over the Palouse with Idaho in the distance. The wind is always blowing up there and when its already very cold out it's bitter cold when you add in the wind. I was moving around the top of the butte quickly assessing where I wanted to spend my time before having to go warm up again when I spotted this awesome cloud over the distant hills, reflecting the just-about-to-set sunlight directly behind me.

The next day a huge snow storm blew in and everything below was covered in it, but no way to see it from above since the clouds were down to the ground. Then the day after the storm it warmed up, rained and the snow was gone just as fast as it came.
