We went to mass this morning as usual. I have a hard time paying attention to the sermon because, frankly, it is boring to me. So I sit there trying to look pious and keep from falling asleep. Almost every Sunday my mind wanders off into contemplating what the greatest sense we are given. I always decide that it is vision. If you think about it we are constantly being bombarded by photons and our eyes can sense these light particles and create an image of what is around. I think that is miraculous, but I am easily amused. Today's photo was taken about 19 years ago in the sanctuary of St. Bernadette. This is the view we have every Sunday.

I thought the black holes were there to bring the edge of the universe back to where it belongs.

I often imagine the universe as a ball shape, a very big ball. Then I imagine every photon produced which is not absorbed will end up hitting the surface of that ball. Then I try to imagine how many photons that would be. It is a very big number.
Now I have read that possibly the universe is expanding faster than light travels.
So those photons will not get there. Damn
