Every time we travel it is imperative that we have the proper socket adapters. In the old days you had to sometimes have a converter because most of the world is 220 volts. Now days, almost all things are 220 volts like power supplies and phone chargers. Still, many countries have different sockets. We have a couple adapters that have worked everywhere. Now I have seen it all. Here is a socket that works with every plug. How cool is that?
John, as you know we have 240v, so no place for us in that socket.
Purely as a matter of interest, when I started work in Battersea when I was 15, a few of the people I worked with their homes were powered with DC current, I dont know what the voltage was. There were not many streets with it, I cannot remember even one of them now.
They said they bought normal AC appliances, because obviously there were no DC ones for sale.
They said the appliances did not last long, I forget how long now. This was in 1959
