Varnish was the name of a mongrel dog living in the streets of Kazimierz Dolny.
Once an artist took him home and later he made a bronze statue of it that was put near the market place.
This is the first monument to a mongrel dog in Poland.
Tourist rub his nose for luck so you can see how shiny it became.
But some rub much lower for another kind of luck :)
