Mosaic

Warsaw, Poland

This mosaic is a relic from socialist propaganda days.
Made in 1964 by W. Zych, it commemorates the attacks on the Café Club on the corner of Jerusalem Avenue and Nowy Swiat.
During the occupation, the "Café Club" was only available for Germans (Nur für Deutsche).
People's Guard made a double attack on the Café Club (October 24, 1942 and July 11, 1943).

I knew what it was before I read your narrative. Art so typical of the socialist movement. But good that they've left a monument for this historic place. V

Very timely composition considering the current state of affairs in Ukraine.
