Sharpless 2-261 (Sh2-261) HII emission nebula in Orion. This nebula is also known as Lower’s
Nebula. Taken Jan 13, 15, and 16 2009 with a Q285M on a C80ED operating at f7.5 and a Losmandy
G11/Gemini mount.. The H-alpha subframes were 8 minutes, while the RGB frames were 4 minutes. The
final total exposures were (Ha):(Ha+R):G:B (min) = 376:(376+60):60:60. Color balance was achieved
via numerically scaled channels using a G5 field star. Captured with Nebulosity, calibrated and
sigma combined in Iris with other processing using PixInsight LE and Photoshop CS. North is up.
