Yield to the willow

This well-known Haiku is by Basho, one of my favourite of the Haiku poets. He lived from 1644 to 1694 and perhaps his best-known work is a travelogue of sorts called "The Narrow Road to the Deep North". I think that is about the best title for a work ever! The translation here is by the great haiku scholar, R. H. Blyth
