This delicately pretty fern is bleached by age once autumn arrives. It assumes a more ghostly aspect, but still attractive. This fern grows best in rich, moist woodlands, though it can also be found on rocky slopes (particularly if limestone). I've found them growing most luxuriantly on damp slopes in the ravines of Larose Forest. This, however, was photographed in the Fletcher Wildlife Garden.
