mushrooms (Marasmius)

Reveler COnservation Area. The dainty white caps of these tiny mushrooms are held up by spindly black thread-like stalks. They will grow on anything, including here on a fungus. The green object in the photo is a bitternut hickory nut.

A lovely group not so easy to identify This usually requires microscopic examination.I am thinking here of Marasmius androsaceus because of a wire thin black or brown stem.great work Christine, always cool to look at your photos of nature BV

Amazing and unusual how they are supported by such spindly stalks; fascinating.
