Tulip tree (Liriodendron tulipifera)

Dominion Arboretum

This beautiful tree is native to the Carolinian Zone in extreme southern Ontario, and further south into the US, but not here. This tree is one of two planted at the arboretum, and is the only one still surviving.

Looks great against the blue sky. Nice to see on a cold winter day. V

love the glow of the leaves....they have been planted here on the west coast too...one across the street in fact, although leaves four lobed rather than six..

Nice capture of the color and detail! One of my favorite trees. Our two are practically family! :-)

Does me good to look at this bright green against the sunny blue sky at this time of year!

We have lots of these on our property. They appear all over the place. They actually can be pests. The blossoms are gorgeous, but don't appear, I believe, until the tree is 10 years old. https://www.flickr.com/photos/isabel95/5676168460/
