Hi Charlie,
This is Shari from St Therese.
I'm wondering what you would charge to do a head shot of me? It doesn't have to be anything formal but it would have to be fairly soon.
I won an architectural award that will be announced on Jan 20th and it would be really nice to have a decent picture of myself since I will probably need one then.
Wishing you all the best in the new year.

Charlie...your work is very diverse and interesting. Some of my favorites are: Droplets on a Web, Lincoln Penny, Foggy Night, Clock Series and Squall Line. Your work is just wonderful.

Thanks Myra. As far as I know, the red tides aren't predictable like regular tides. If the water near the beach looks red during the day, that's probably it. Usually there will be something in the local news media. And, you don't have to be an old person to do photography!

If you happen to know the exact dates of the Red Tides, let me know!

I am young and am finding what i like to do. looking at your pictures are amazing!!! i wishi could do that someday!

Hi. I read your verse in the comment section of Michael Shpuntov's, Spooky House On the Highway. Wow. Nice work. I have always wanted to have the gift of a literary tongue. That is why I enjoyed reading yours so much. How creative of you to compose prose on a stranger's photograph.
Will come back & browse your Galleries.

Thanks for your comment on my photo of the sunrise over Manhattan. Nicest part was that it lead me to your photos, many of which are truly spectacular.

Your comment that the colors were great is really a nice complement.
http://www.pbase.com/garyhall/image/95951302

I had the deepest of shadows and blown highlights and tried to do what I could in RAW processing. The real problem came when I reduced the pic to 800 pixels for PBase posting. I was constantly getting jpeg compression artifacts on the blue paint.

Very difficult processing for me anyway.

Thanks again.

Thank you, Charles, for your encouragilng remarks on our Minnesota/Wisconsin Landscape gallery back in January (We've added quite a few more since then). I finally got around to viewing the comments and taking a look at your wonderfully varied collection. I especially liked your Fog, Clouds, and Cloud Reflections galleries. Keep them coming. Thanks again,

Thanks Charles for the nice comment on my photo of Majic, our black horse. He's interesting because for all of his strength and beauty, he's the Basset Hound of horses at our house. He's the goofiest one of the bunch. By the way, your clouds, lightning strikes and droplets take my breath away. Just beautiful. W. Pencille

Thanks for the comment on my family portrait sky replacement. These people really needed a sky that wasn't depressing for this portrait especially. I think you probably know the story from the 10D group. Thanks again. Wendi

Ps
Amazing photo's on your site- especially the lightning - don't get much lightning in the UK. Used to see a lot of electrical storms in South Africa.

Hi Charles,
Thanks for the comments left. The hedgehogs would appear to be born all pink and spikey, these were a couple of days old when we found them. Their eyes weren't open yet, as they grew older their skin colour turned grey.
Regards,
George

Hi Charles,
Many thanks for your comment on my Neglected gallery. It is very much appreciated. Your astrophotography is, if you'll pardon the pun, out of this world. A spectacular voyage.
Cheers.

Hello Charles,
Thank you for your interest in my galleries and for your comments. It is funny you know, what
people are interested in and what they avoid. The image you commented on #37556240 of my
grandfather and the compass is one of my favorites. It was more work than I put into most photos.
But, not many hits. That is way-ok, I don't care. Grandfather and especially Grandmother are my
reason for living and they mean much more than I can explain here. One note though, Grandfather
was a pharmaceutical salesman with a territory in Illinois and Iowa I think. He gave me many things
from his travels including the 1941 Longines-Wittnauer pocket type Air Forces Compass Assembly
I used in the picture, and, the B/W portion of Grandfather was from his wedding day in 1934 in
Waukegan, Illinois. Thanks also for your comment # 38385726. Damn, it took 13 or more to get
that one. It was a demolition on the 5000 block of 4th Street North St. Pete. Thank you very much
again Charles for your positive comments to this amateur.
Scott

p.s. I'm perusing your galleries as time permits. thx.
