Thank you for your compliments, Gleb :-) As you have guessed, I am a globetrotter who tries to catch wonderful memories of different places on a small screen, for my pleasure and the pleasure of the others :-)

I like your black and white shots. So simple ... =)

your world truly is infused and brimming over with so much beauty – strive to reveal the barest essence of these ‘captured’ images – and through your lens, let them speak of their experiences, their his/herstories and the journeys they’ve taken to draw you into their world – take hold of its beauty now - and be left raw, inspired, immersed and spent – before the moment passes and she moves on ...

nice photos of nice Glebby!

As a person who seriously thought about pursuing career in photography, but didn't quite make it, i do see great potential in your photos. (i am not saying this just because you are nice.) Your images are crisp, sharp, lively and warm. I think they well reflect your affection and positive attitude towards life.

keep it up, G-boy!

Hi Gleb,
Once more thanks a lot for the "patience" you had with all the comments you sent to me, that represent much more than a precious "Tutorial".
I really hope to go on learning more with you, and so, I will "spy" your galleries, whenever I have some free time.
Cheers,
Stradivarius

Hi Gleb,

Welcome to Pbase. I am no expert and I am also new to photography myself. Here is just my 2 cents. Not sure what focus problem you are experiencing. But I personally think it's the first thing you must overcome. Was it your way of holding the camera or you are having problem with the focus lock, etc.? Suggest to do some readings on the focusing as well as keep on trying. You will get there.

As for composition, again, read the books. Another good way to learn is to look at others' photos. I've learnt a lot from the works of other photographers here. Study what's good about others' photos and what works and what doesn't work.

My favourite picture in your galleries is 'horizontal shadows'. Both the composition and lights are good. It's better than the cropped version, I feel.

Anyway, this is just some advices from a newbie. So, please listen to other experts. Good luck.

Cheers,
Norman.
