The Mad City 100k was a national championship race held over the holiday weekend. There was a SOLO race and a RELAY (the relayers are easy to pick out in the pictures below!). The temperature was sub-freezing with a blustery winds that chilled the runners and volunteers. The course was a 10k paved (with some cement) loop which included a 3-mile stretch through the Arboretum, which was the nicest part. Despite the frigid temps, the race went along without a hitch and Timo, the RD, did a fabulous job. Greg Crowther won the race and qualified for the 100k national team, as did 3 women! For me, this turned out not to be the best race as I had gut trouble from the 20k mark on that I couldn't overcome. I'm already looking forward to redemption at next year's championship!
