On june 9th, a naturist bike ride happened worldwide (WNBR) within 10 countries and, for the first time this year, in Paris. The event is initiated by a spanish organization, concerned by environmental problems and which advocates for city biking against cars, that are seen as one of the main pollution factors today... (I would personally quite agree with these assessments, except for taking off my clothes in the streets... but it might be viewed through my mind...)

I wasn't very clear myself about the common point between bicycles and naturism. The organizers claimed they wanted to show themselves as the most fragile of all against the power of petrol engines and the risks of being accidented by cars.
Metaphorically, nudity is obviously the most fragile of all the human states... the relationship hence became a little clearer.

On the other hand, they also admitted they needed to be provokative, in order to catch the press attention and to shed some light on their claims on the issue of car pollution, to a certain extent on more general environmental problems involving climete change... and that worked indeed, at least for me : I heard about the thing on the radio, as I woke up on this morning, I immediately thought it could be quite funny to see and ticked it at once on my list of to do things for the day.

200-300 people gathered on Reuilly lawns at 2PM, waiting for the police authorization, which didn't come... around 3PM, the event management announced naturism wasn't allowed in town. A couple of people started to undress and some called for an independant rally through Paris streets : most of the bikers attending started with their clothes on, but as the ride went on more bikers eventually undressed.

The rally was stopped when it arrived at the meeting place of the Opera. 5 People were arrested for nudity outrage in public places.
