The Teepee rest stop just west of Lajitas on the River Road affords excellent views of the Rio Grande in both directions
as well as obvious photo opportunities as a classic roadside attraction in its own right.
These distinctive shelters - complete with benches and tables - were built in the 1960s as a result of Lady Bird Johnson's Highway Beautification Act.
