Oasis at Dugout Wells

Big Bend National Park, Texas

Dugout Wells is a historic desert oasis in the Chihuahuan Desert.
This area was a cultural center of Big Bend in the early 1900s. At its height, there were a half dozen buildings including a schoolhouse.

there are different cultures at work here now...a welcome sight in such an arid area...strong POV leading the eye to the tree..
