I hate to see these kinds of shops end their lives. They are always so much fun to shop in. Most have everything you needed (and things you would never need!) Several of my favorites have closed and I still miss them.
How sad...these corner shops were once the life of the neighbourhoods. Now with so many shopping on-line many of the larger retail stores are closing too and that trickles down. One day the large shopping malls will be empty too. :(
This is such a classic shop. I remember going to such stores when a youngster in the UK, and they seemed so full of 'stuff', anything you wanted. It was always a treat to go. And now... So sorry that this is closing. As you say, end of an era, but at least your wonderful shot keeps some of that alive. V
