I stay in Wadi Musa every year working with the University at Ma'an, and am so lucky to visit Petra for one day of the stay. . I was looking for archaeological landscape as some unexcavated features made me curious, but your photos are the best I have seen. I shall have to come back in November and try harder!

Hi Mansour ... just found your site looking for content to put with my photos of Petra onto FB ... just want to say your images are stunning! I need to go back to Petra on my own, rather than with the tour group I was with and spend at least another week there. Didn't get to Little Petra either. Absolutely LOVED Jordan - every bit of it. God bless you.

Petra 30-Jul-2008 04:13
My name is Petra. I chose the name in 1996 while going though a divorce. I wanted a stronger name, and had never liked my own. Since taking the name I have been having stronger and stronger psychic experiences. (My first at the age of 7) In the last three days, I have discovered more and more things in looking at the pictures of Petra and reading descriptions of the sight that are things that are signifigant in my life, since a child. I have never believed in past lives, I am a Christian. It is a very long, and micraculous story as well, as quite frightening, (all the events that have led up to this week of finding all the coincidences etc.) I don't know whether to be excited, or frightened at this point. I know one thing, I need to talk to someone about all this NOW. I have no idea whether to go to a minister, another psychic, an archaeologist that knows something about all the history here or what! If someone reads this, please email me at ....petrafyd_7@hushmail.com ASAP!!! This is not a joke of anykind.I have been very sick the past year.... I died a month ago, was in the light etc. and knew it was a warning. Since then the channeling or whatever it is, comes every day as I read the scriptures. I pray to the Holy Spirit for guidance and insight.....Please...if anyone reads this and has had similar experiences or can help CONTACT ME!..thank you....Petra

Hello Mansour,

thanks for this wonderful photo album! I'll be spending one evening tomorrow in Amman as my flight from Dubai to Cairo connects through Amman. What do you think would be the best program in one single evening: what areas to walk by, restaurant to have dinner, places with nice sight? Most of all, place that will give me the desire to come back for a longer visit!

you can reach out to me at laurent.laparra@bain.com or +336 80 45 95 07,

Many thanks,

Laurent

Dear Mansour,

Great work, and very professional photography. It’s amazing how you were able to grab such an amazing shots. I haven’t been to Amman in 3 years, and It’s nice to be able to connect. Living in the US, It would be nice to show others here how Jordan has developed, and how much history, nature, and with good planning it has become. With your permission, I would like to share some of the photos with my friends. Thank you, and god bless. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to seeing more photos focusing more on Amman and how it’s developing.

Hello and thank you very much for the wonderful pictures from Jordan. Last year we visited your country - a friend and her daugther and me - spent nearly three weeks in Jordan. After having seen Amman for 3 days we went to the Dead Sea,and further to Wadi Rum. An unforgetable stay in the desert after riding the camels for many hours - looking at the amazing mountains - we spent the night outside the beduin tents, and it was so wonderful to look up and see the starts shining so brightly in the middle of the night! Ofcourse we went to see Petra as well, and it was really worth the trip. I hope I will have at least one more journy to your beautiful country once more!!! Ps.Nearly each day I am looking for more pictures from all parts of Jordan. Thanks a lot! Regards from Astrid.
Myrla 13-May-2008 03:53
I just accidentally stumbled across this site with all your wonderful pictures.
Wow... I'm just speechless.... We spent about 8 years all together in Jordan - and have some really good pictures which we like to show our friends in the States when we talk about Jordan... But your pictures take some of the everyday things of Jordan, and artfully depict the soul of the culture and the city. It's breathtaking -- and amazing. You are truly gifted, my friend...

Mansour.....Great shots of a Great Place... In the early 70's I hitchhiked through Jordan & into Petra. I lived there for a few weeks in the cave of a really nice Bedouin named Ishmael Iiad (don't know the exact spelling have it written somewhere)... I use to swim (or soak) in a small waterfall in Petra (is it still there?), then lie in that wonderful Jordanian Sun & ate this thin bread that was made from baking on Sun-hot rocks ... I remember this dance myself & some other Bedouins all did about the fire in the nights, where you gather in a circle around the fire & while singing, move closer, then farther, then closer again to the fire repetitiously - cannot remember the name of it.. Ishmael gave me this funny address to write to him at: Ishmael Iiad, Wadi Musa, Petra, Roman Road, Cave # 3 (I think #3), Jordan ...yeah a real Roman road, very cool!............ I got on a high point of one of the sandstone tops one early evening & was just laying on my back looking at the early stars – then at twilight these neat birds would dive from great heights with Great acceleration, then get about 10 feet from me lying on my back on that high point & then make a 45 degree angle back up again - & the reason I remember this is that it was a real unusual sound the birds made ‘buckling’ the air due to the fast turning back up (like I guess a jet does reaching mach speeds etc)…sorry for the long post but I have a Lot of great memories & stories from Jordan & Petra & these pics bring some of em back – I’m a Polish American & they took me in and treated me like I was part of the family, very gracious people …..I hope Ishmael is doing well :-) … & good luck to you Mansour..... Jon

Mansour...I must applaud you on this website. As a former Jordanian Tour guide back in 1995-1997, your pictures brought back fond memories of the places I visited hundreds of times with tourists from all over the world. I am so happy that many more people can view our beautiful country here on your website and hopefully even visit. I have lived in Chicago for most of my life, but after viewing your photos, I felt as though I was transported back to re-live the countless magical moments that I shared with the so many people who eyes I opened and whose hearts I hopefull touched to the beauty of our people and our country . Thanks !!!

God bless you Mansour! God bless you!
I will say it another 100 time!!! God bless you.
In your pictures, I saw great love for our country. I know that you need to honestly love the place in order to show the beauty of it. This is what I found in your work... passion and love!
I know we have a beautiful, diverse country, and I know how unique, holly, historical and beautiful Jordan is. So far, you are the only photographer ever to show things right, and in a way that really made my soul fly with you throughout those spectacular mountains and everlasting sunshine.
In each picture I saw the real Jordan that I lived and carried out in my soul where ever I go in this world.
You are the best in Jordan! I truly mean that!

Hello Sue,
Jordan is a safe country. Irbid is no exception.
The city of Irbid lies in the north of the country where you can also visit ancient cities such as Um Qais, Jerash, Pella, Um-Al-Jimal among others.
Petra, Rum and Aqaba lie a long way south of Irbid, but definitely worth a visit.
Your supplied e-mail address does not work. It has no (@) in it. I could not get in touch with you.
Have a good time.

Please e-mail me and let me know where to send it.

I recentely found out that I am assigned to move to Jordan in 2 months. I had no idea what to expect, but now that I have seen your pictures I am so excited. Thank you for the introduction to my new home. I have looked at your recent pictures of the people in Jordan, but I still am a bit unsure of what the proper wear is. If you happen to take some pictures of the local people, please let me know, as I would love to see them.

A dear friend, a Jordanian, sent me a link to your site and I enjoyed all the pictures immensely. Never thought Jordan has so much beauty. I just got back from a tour of Turkey and your pictures reminded me so much of the places I have seen there especially the Roman ruins. I live in the the US and my friend has asked me to visit your country several times and this time I will seriously consider visiting him and have a personal tour of all the beautiful sites shown in your pictures.

Thanks for sharing them.

Mansour,

These are beautiful, expressive pictures. They capture so much of the beauty that Jordan possesses. Thank you for taking the time to post them here for all to view. I lived in Jordan for two years ('96-'98) and simply adored your country. Since my departure in 1998, I have been homesick for Jordan--Imagine? Homesick for a country that you are not from...Currently life and my profession prevent me from returning so your pictures have allowed me to "escape" back to Jordan and re-live all the happy moments and times. I hope one day, to return and perhaps even live in Jordan--that is my dream. Thank you so very much and please keep taking pictures.
Best regards and sincerest thanks,
Tera

Marhaba Mansour,

I have just done a search on Google looking for photos of Aqaba and I came across your site and absolutely love your photos. I travelled to Jordan and spent 3 months diving in Aqaba in 2001 so it's a pleasant shock to see that Aqaba has changed so much.

The photos of Petra and Wadi Rum are great aswell, I remember visiting those places so it's brought back great memories. Do you have any photos atall of the main town centre area in Aqaba ???

Thank you again so much and I shall pass on your website to many people !

Dear Mansour,

I will be taking my 3rd trip to Jordan this April.
Your pictures reminded me of places I have visited and others that I just have to see ...
Jordan is in my heart not only for its beauty but for its history as well.
I was moved when I saw ancient Greek written on monuments, but most important of all, it is the people who made me feel welcomed and at home.

Though it is a rainy day in Greece your pictures made me smile.

I wish you all the best.

First of all I like to thank Mansour for giving an opportunity to see all those beatiful pictures of Jordan. I never been in Jordan but some how I think Jordan is a magnificent country in middle east not only by the natural beauty but also the moderate decent people who lives there . Its seems like God made Jordan with his own hand . God bless
Jordan and their people.

i stumbled across yur pictures while looking for a book of wildflowers of the Mid-east, that would be available in English in Israel. I was overwhelmed with the quality of your pictures, also the bird photographs, better quality than any I have seen in any book. They would make a superb book for identification purposes, or simply as an art book.

Greetings, Mansour,

and thank you for the beautiful two-hour visit which I just had viewing your remarkable photos of your country - Jordan. Although I was a geography teacher prior to my retirement and knew most of the facts and figures of Jordan, I had no idea of the intense beauty of your country.

After my retirement I began collecting picture postcards of cities from around the world, and one of the cities from which I still lack cards is Amman. Could I persuade you to send me a couple of panoramic view cards of the city, similar to the views on your web pages? I will be most grateful for your kindness.

Peace and blessings from a fellow Pilgrim,

Magnificent photos... Would be great if you could name the photos of locations, landscapes and sceneries, as many are hard to discuss just from a general view.

Your photos are magnificent!! I accidentally wondered into your cite and the pictures are all soooo beautiful. The photos in Lebanon made me want to visit even though I'm not a religious person. It would be a great pleasure to be able to view more of your future snaps.

Dear Mansour,

Many thanks for you to introducing the beautiful places of Jordan in your gallery! After browsing your gallery, I decide to go Jordan. I already visited Jordan on the early of October. The weather was very good. I love Jordan so much. Jordanian are very nice people as I known. I'm unforgettable to see the different color of rock and sand in Wadi Rum and Petra. It was a great experience to me on this journey.

I loved the photos of Saydnaya! Thanks for letting me know about it. But you still haven't exhausted the sacred sites of Jordan yet! How about Gilead? They have youth camps there and the terrain, they say, is absolutely heavenly! I'm hoping to see it featured in your site someday ... soon! That is because I believe that nobody can show it to better privilege!
Lots of Love from Hana

DEAR MANSOUR' ONE OF MY FAVORITE NAMES BY THE WAY, I MET SOMEONE IN JORDAN CALLED MANSOUR AND I LOVE YOUR GALLERY. WHAT CAN I SAY IT LEAVES ME IN WONDER. ALL THE PHOTOS ARE SO REAL LOOKING. I WAS IN JORDAN ALMOST TWO YEARS AGO, BUT BECAUSE OF FINANCES I HAD TO SHORTEN MY TRIP. I CERTAINLY DIDNT EVEN COME CLOSE TO SEEING ALL THAT I WANTED, BUT YOU MAKE ME CRY WHEN I SEE ALL OF THE WONDERS IN YOUR PART OF THE WORLD. THE PERSON WHO GUIDED ME HAD NEVER EVER VISITED SOME OF THE MUSEUMS, EVEN JERASH OR PETRA UNTIL I CAME TO VISIT HIM. YOU COULDNT HAVE ASKED FOR A BETTER GUIDE IT WAS LIKE HE WAS SEEING IT FOR THE FIRST TIME LIKE I WAS. I HAVE SO MANY GOOD MEMORIES, I NEVER STOP TALKING ABOUT JORDAN I FELT MORE PEACE THERE THAN ANY OTHER PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN.I WROTE ABOUT IT WHEN I CAME HOME. IF I HAD TO PICK ONE THING THAT STRUCK ME THE MOST ITS THE PEOPLE, AND THE SOUNDS OF THE MOSQUES. I STILL HEAR THEM IN MY HEAD TODAY. I WROTE THIS WHEN I CAME HOME.

Dear Mansour,

You are a master! What a wonderful collection of galleries of Jordan. I am sure that some of the pictures were hard to take because of places to climb and waiting for the perfect light. There must be a lot of planning required and perhaps returning to the same place at different hours to get it the way you really want it. Anyhow most of them are superb. Jordan should be proud of you. You have done a great service to your country by sharing these on the internet with the rest of the online community.

While surfing through National geographic website, came across couple of wall papers from Petra, liked it so just thought of finding some more info about the city and googled with petra so reached to your page.

Your pictures are absolutely amazing. I would love to go to this place some day. Could you please suggest some website dedicated to Petra (official site preferable) Found loads of sites on google but none are upto my expectations, Official tourism (www.tourism.jo) seems to be facing some problems (webmaster has uploaded only index page!!)
