Florida Trip March '07

The images below were from a very fast, target-based trip to south Florida. Over 5.5 days (left on 3/10 and got back home on 3/15) I drove 3400 miles, and with 4 full days of birding I managed to see and photograph virtually every species I was after.

The Northern Wheatear in Foley, AL and the Loggerhead Kingbird in Key West were the main motivators, but I also needed to clean-up Spot-breasted Oriole and Short-tailed Hawk from my one previous birding trip to FL. On my previous trip, I wasn't attempting photography, so I spent most of this trip running down the birds I'd seen previously, to try and get a shot of them.

This gallery is presented in chronological order, versus taxonomic order which I usually do. The photos in this gallery represent a running narrative of this fantastic, (and somewhat brutal for one person) trip.
