Make sure you get put on antibiotic if you get bit by any tick don't take no for an answer Lyme disease is a real and deadly

Djwtaylor I just pulled off a chartreuse green tick from the back of my neck. I felt it bite otherwise I would'nt have known it was there!! I live in southern Indiana.

I found a green to golden like tick my dad tried to squash it but it didn't work so we through it in the bin it had redish legs we live in Australia N.S.W blue mountains.... We have guinea pigs is this a problem?

I found a dead engorged dog (wood) tick next to my dog's bed. Did a thorough check on both dogs and didn't see or feel anything. Sprayed some tick killer and vacuumed that sucker up. Makes the grossest sound in the vacuum. Threw out the dog beds and deep cleaned the carpets throughout the house. We are in Camarillo CA.

I just pulled a deer tick off of my dog this morning! Nasty little buggers! I live in Wisconsin right n the border of Minnesota and they are abundant this year! I did not know that the blood would be so black when I got it out and it was bigger than I have ever seen one to be!

slim I took a green tick off my cat.I live in Pennsylvania , the tick was the size of the top of the eraser head on a pencil. The color of GREEN was medium, not light or dark green. I put tick spray on the tick ,but did not notice any change to the tick,so I used a pair of tweezers to remove the tick. I believe the tick's head stayed in my cats skin. The cat had a lump under his skin for about a week or two.The cat seems to be alright, no more lump.

I have found alot of ticks on our dog, Or at least I think they are ticks. They are attached, when I pull off of him. They are really small some smaller than others, and are grey color. When you take of off the dog there really squishy like. I have been looking at the pictures, but cant seem to find one that looks like these imperticullar ones. Does anyone know what it might be.

I found a strange looking bug on my neck that looked like a tick. So, I got online and searched what kind of bug it may be. It looked sort of like these ticks above our comments, but it wasn't fat. It was four legged and had antennas. It looks close enough like the female deer tick.

We live in VA and ticks seem to be particularly plentiful here this year. My husband has gotten 5 off of him so far. One of them was lime green with a yellow spot on it. We'd like some information about what kind it is and if it is dangerous.

I just found a tick on my daughter's blanket she was sitting on after she came in from outside. It was the size of my pinky nail and was black with a big green spot on its back. Before I could get it, my daughter dragged the blanket through the house and now I can't find it. What kind of tick would this be?

I live in North Carolina. I keep finding ticks on my cat that are dark forest green. When they are full of blood they are are still very small. When they don't have blood in them you can barely see them. I have looked everywhere to find what kind they are. This is the first year I have seen them. I even found them all winter long.

Yeah I just found a lime green tick with a black little tiny round head and black little legs on my dog, scared the crap out of me, untill my sister told me it was a tick. But I'm still wondering what kind, can someone please tell me so I can search it?

I'm in Brunswick, Georgia and I find lime green ticks on the outside stray cats we care for at our house that we remove quite often. I can't find any information on them, either, but I will take pictures and post them soon.

Found the tick photos...and comments Re: ticks...at p.base.com/mplonsky/ticks. Reason I went in search? I just saw and killed an absolutely bright lime-ish green tick. At least I believe it was a live tick that became dead very quickly. Came to the site after entering search words "photos green ticks" (without the quotation marks, of course) and would you believe I cannot find ONE photo that even comes close to the coloration of this thing I believe might have been a tick. Have no idea how it got into my home...but am very glad, since it was near where my totally indoor cats' food & water bowls are...that it didn't find a cat before I found IT. Gross? YES! I didn't even know green ticks existed. Have been tick-bitten once but that diner was a brown-black color & I believe it either came indoors on dog or firewood.

Just came across your site, through Kim Piddington, on Facebook. We have a major tick problem on the Northern Beaches in Sydney Australia, I have been bitten many times as have my pets, past and present. There just has been a good article in the Syd.Morn.Herald, which you could down load if you are interested in the illnesses they carry and the problem we have here with our medical fraternity.SMH June 11 2011 Good Weekend' Bad Blood' by Fenella Souter. (if you google this you should get it) I have Parkinson's now and it never occurred to me there may be a link. We may find out, one day. PS love your work. So glad Kim directed us to it.

I found a tick burying its way into my stomach many years ago after trekking through the BC forest. Got rid of it quickly enough but even now, years later, I occassionally experience intense itching in the area that it embedded itseelf. Nasty vile creatures they are.

i just had a lime green tick crawling on me. didnt bite me, it was on my pants, i live in north dakota. does anyone know what this is? if it is carrying diseases? it was shaped exactly like a woodtick only it was lime green with small brown and yellow spots on some areas.

I have seen a lime green tick completely buried in my boss's dog's ear I keep trying to get her to take the dog to a vet but she won't so I am also trying to find out what it is so I can kill it. It's in the south MS area too.

I saw a green tick this morning, and was just looking up to see if anyone else had ever heard of one. The one I found was primarily lime in color, and the exact same size and shape as a brown tick, with a brown half moon on its back. Looks like they may not only be indigenous to Florida, but also Indiana. It was crawling on the door, just above where my two cats were ritualiastically sun bathing. I felt compelled to kill it, rather than just toss it in the yard, as my friend still suffers from her encounter with a deer tick over a decade ago. I find clippers work best for decapitation, and they give at least some distance between you and the tick.

i FOUND a insect that looked like a tick,It was a lime green color and it was about one half inch in length by one quarter inch in width , I squished it so I dont know for sure if it had six or eight legs,also when i squished it there was no blood that came out. can you tell if it may have been a tick. Once again the color was a lime green.are ticks green,I live in clearwater fl.

thanx gregory. These days I use a number of different kinds of flashes or, rarely, none. I sometimes play with slave flashes and use the mt-24ex for the extreme macros like these ticks.
