Just found your wonderful website. We had lots of crows in our front yard large old oak tree. I could tell they loved it there. I observed them every morning for months. They are gone now, why did they leave, will they return? I miss them.

I am at the orange lake resort and saw a large brown bird with a long neck and a red plume? There were lots of them! They came right under our porch! What type of bird are they?

I have a question about the first photo of the unidentified bird. I have a photo of a bird without a good zoom and its wings are closed but it looks very similar to this bird you have a photo of with the wings up. I am trying to figure out what it is. It is nesting near the Regal Sun Resort in the Orlando area up in a tree in a nest that looks like an eagle's nest. Is it some kind of a hawk? Thanks.

I live in Orange City and had gold finches for the first time this year. (I've lived here 10 yrs originally from Buffalo NY area. I believe they migrate and they are a pale yellow in winter and just before they leave for the north they get a much brighter yellow and black. I use just a bird mix from Sam's club..very reasonable price to feed cardinals, goldfinches, chipping sparrows, blue jays, titmice, mourning doves, red bellied woodpeckers, and carolina wrens. That's my backyard!

I see goldfinches all the time here in Orlando, they normally appear when a coworker and I head outside for a work break.

A question about goldfinches please.
I moved to Sebring from Ohio in July and promptly hung my goldfinch feeders. I've not seen a single goldfinch.
Someone told me that as far as they knew - there were no goldfinches in Florida.
But I see goldfinches on the first page of your website.
What am I doing wrong or how can attract goldfinches to my feeders?
BTW. I am in Sebring about 60 miles south of Orlando.

The juvenile ibis is a immature white ibis; they get their white plumage after about two years.
