Keeping Watch

A lifeguard watches over surfers and swimmers as the sun sinks into the Pacific. These folks do a tough job exceptionally well, making several life saving rescues each year on the busy San Diego beaches.

respect and gratitude are certainly due the lifeguards...seeing so many people in the water definitely fills out the narrative..

Dan's thought was mine also. I imagine there are more than the usual rescues with skate boarders. The somber look of the image is certainly fitting here. "VV"

I bet they do. I did not realize they patrolled in trucks. I always thought each beach had a number of life guard perches that they watched from. Excellent capture as always Nick. ~V~
