As a sports/action photographer I'm always on the lookout for different ways to shoot sports, in this case surfing. Once the sun goes down I switch to a panning technique that works well in low light. In contrast to the high speed/stop action shots, this process smooths the wave, imparts a sense of speed and ultimately produces more of an "impressionistic" image of the sport.
