Working the Fields

This time of year it's easy to find pics of cultivated flower fields, and rightly so. They are filled with glorious, natural colors. My approach, however, is to draw attention instead to the women and men that labor behind the scenes to bring us the flowers we enjoy. This image is part of my series "Working the Fields", Carlsbad, CA.

between all the bending over, cutting, bunching up, and carrying, the long days must take a toll on the body..the spacing of the workers underscores their individual toil..

While the flowers are pretty the people are special and interesting to me. the older I get A find that people pix are more important to me than landscapes.
