These birds are usually overlooked among the highly variable Herring Gulls. This first year Lesser Black-backed Gull was first seen on the rocks above the dam. It then came to feed just down from the spillway. Features noted were; white rump, only slight trace of inner primary panel, darker secondary coverts, light head with all dark bill, whitish chest and belly.
