As the birds on the far side would tip up and then rise up in a line the next birds would follow in turn and so forth. Here you can see three distinct lines as they moved across the flock. The visual as seen through the scope was almost dizzying. This went on for about 30 minutes in this cove, until I guess, they ran out of shad. Best viewed at largest size. What a treat!!
