Hi-

My name is Scott Whittle and I'm co-authoring a book on warbler ID, to be published by Princeton University Press this year. I saw a photo of an Ovenbird on your site, and would like to use it in our book. Please let me know if that's possible, and I can give you more details on the photo. Thanks so much for your help!

Osprey,
Hi! I have not been on the "Birding" on NJ.Com for a long time. Hope all is well with you, as I see you have not been on there for a long time either. I hope you get this message....my husband would like to know if you have heard about the bald eagles we now have in Point Pleasant? He would like to paint them (airbrush) but would like to see if you would be interested in taking the photo for him. We don't have a camera like yours, nor do we have the skills!! You can e-mail us at imagineartschool@gmail.com and thanks in advance! bird46

I believe your galleries have some of the most beautiful nature shots I've seen, and what a great variety!!

Hi Osprey-thanks for your kind words and taking the time to view my images. I apologize for the small size-I used to post larger images but another photographer hijacked some of my images and presented them as his own so now I post a smaller size. Where are you located?
Thanks for looking

Hi Osprey!
Like your name! ;)
Here in Sweden the ospreys have a hard time.
There is not many old big trees left for them
to nest in anymore! Catastrophe! To next winter
we will try to build nests for them on poles
and in treetops. Great photos Osprey!
Lillebror.

You are truly one of my favorite photographers (and friends). I love all your images and want to be just like you when I grow up. Because I am already older than you, that may take some doing....

Hi Kathy, nice hearing from you again. I hope you had a great summer and you took MANY pics. The Yellow Cuckoo pictures were the highlights of my birding summer, thanks for noticing it. Have nice Halloween.

Grahamd, you're welcome

Thanks for coming back to look at my photos although I'm not sure why you did, I haven't touched them for 5 months. I guessed you couldn't stay away after all this time. Interesting that you posted a comment on a gallery that is three years old which I haven't touched for that time either. I wonder what prompted you to do that and to leave such a thoughtless comment? Anyway, glad that you find my galleries so alluring. I'm sure you must find them very interesting, otherwise you wouldn't have come back. Sadly, I can't repay the compliment to your pointless and boring photos, but thanks for dropping by anyway.

I usually don’t even pay attention to it but it so happened I just photographed, this past Sunday, an identical looking bird and I remember going through my field guides.
Why don’t you just remove my comment.

Thanks for your ID tip on my previously-called Tennesse Warbler. I guess you are right,
I based my ID on the complete lack of wing bands but than the fall plummage of the Palm
Warbler looks right like that. And it did indeed wag its tail when on the ground...

Thanks!

The fish shot is of a Bluefish in feeding Frenzy. They were feeding close to the beach so I kept on clicking until I got it:-) Lucky Shot:-)

As to the action shots I take them only in maximum light and I practice, practice and practice how to follow the subject in motion. Even when I see an ugly Gull flies by, I try to get it in focus and then follow it for a while. When I don’t practice pictures become blurry:-( (I don’t use tripod)

Guest 12-Sep-2005 22:31
I was looking for that cool shot of the fish you posted in the forum. What was the story behind that?

Nice bird shots..how do you get the action shots so clear?
Guest 29-Jul-2005 23:41

You see Grahamd I respect your opinion and I will not remove your posting. Too bad you can’t stand the head and felt compel to remove my and all other comments from your galleries. You asked on the forum to give you “constructive feedback” which I did. Why did you then remove my post? If you didn’t ask for it or asked for positive feedback only I wouldn’t say a word.
Guest 13-Jul-2005 22:16
I'm afraid that bird-spotting is not for me, you've seen one, you've seen them all, but hey, each to his own ;-)
