Please leave a comment. The more comments, the more likely that this graffiti will be flagged as a problem that needs to be fixed.
This graffiti needs to be cleaned up completley restoring signs to original conditions. Painting over the top of graffiti does not appear to work. Letting the graffiti remain ligitimizes these written sentiments.
The photographs of graffiti are grouped by:
- on road surface
- signs defaced
- signs with poop. Fixation?
- signs that have been spray painted over graffiti
- signs that have been spray painted over graffiti and then written on
- unicycles
:: Is the FAA following their published take off procedures for SSTIK and CNDEL? ::
52% of time for SSTIK and 10% of flights for CNDEL. Why?
Until we understand why the FAA is not following their written departure procedures, it is hard to comment as to where the waypoints should be moved. Currently the CNDEL waypoint seems to be ignored.
We do know that having planes fly further away is better. Higher over Brisbane does not work as there are limits as to how quickly the planes can ascend and does not mitigate against health concerns from the pollution. An extra 500 foot makes scarcely any difference to noise or pollution. And Santa Cruz is up in arms about the noise of planes that are twice as high as the current ones over Brisbane and they are descending. To reduce the noise and health concerns, the planes need to be further away.
The FAA tells us that the SSTIK flights are being vectored due to safety and separation concerns about flights from Oakland. If the CNDEL flights were to fly the published procedure, would the SSTIK flights need to be vectored?
:: SSTIK flights over Brisbane ::
Note the path over Brisbane. The FAA computer models say that there will be no increase in noise. Can the SFO Round Table get from the FAA where the flights will pass over the ground? We do not want consultants' interpretation of where they think the flights will go. Or flight tracks for the whole day ie not cherry picked.
The FAA has cherry picked results in the past and presented at the SFO Round Table meeting to show that 100% of the flights that were vectored, were due to conflicts with flights from Oakland. We now have multiple videos that show the vectoring over Brisbane is not due to conflicts ie more than 5 minutes to a flight taking off from Oakland. Habit or lack of coordination with the Oakland and SFO Towers or both?

:: Knoydart Spring 1970 ::
I recently wrote to Richard:
While looking through Papa’s slides, I found a box on which he had written Knoydart 1970. I enclose copies of three slides. The one with the flames was a defining moment. It was then that I realized that camping could be fun and even more fun if one put a camping gas canister into a driftwood fire and stood well back. I have not done it since but have often thought about it. With hind sight it was quite a hard trip as we had thin sleeping bags and were sleeping directly on the ground. I have been less cold sleeping on a mat on snow and it was freezing outside. The other two photographs tell their own stories.
When looking through the slides I was able to identify some people. I can see Brendan Skean, Paul Hawksworth, Fr. Michael and you although your antler disguise is something that I would expect to be straight out of some medieval sacrificial ritual to which only men might be invited.

These are the unedited photographs that I had scanned several years ago. I was concerned about continued deterioration due to mold and loss of colour. Theses photographs are reduced quality. The original photographs are of higher quality ie detail density.
One of the many things I find amazing is how one can now go to:

These are a few photographs of Manuel. He touched many people's lives and these are a few examples. We are all coming to terms with Manuel not being part of our lives.
These photographs show several gatherings: Christmas 2005, Christmas 2006, a birthday party for Connie and Manuel held on 1/11/07 which was Manuel's 70th birthday and Manuel's official birthday on Saturday 1/13/07.

:: Deck drop causing gate misalignment ::
Note how the gate is no longer aligned. The reason is that the deck has dropped relative to the house. One reason could be that the support at the junction of the turn of the deck has sunk. The design was followed as required. What can ge done to bring the gates back into alignment? One is to raise the support column but how would that get done?

:: Thank you Martha and Calvin ::
I really enjoyed the walk to the Meadow and Anna loved visiting the Morgan Horses but was less keen on the homework later in the back of the car.
All too often we run around on the weekend doing things that are really not that important but seem vital. The time at your house was a wonderful mirror to see that there are other ways. I will remember seeing the turkeys more than another another repetitive Saturday activity. Anna will remember Drake and Pip and Connie, the tranquility and both of us the soup.
Many thanks to you both.
