< Our Trip To Spain- Fall, 2002 >
untitled 4 copy
Our trip was a dream of a lifetime realized. I spent nearly a year in planning this trip. Most of my research was done on the Internet (details to follow)
We had nearly 4 weeks in mostly northern and central Spain.
Our visit began in Madrid on Sept 11 and ended on October 9. In between we had the most fantastic time.
Food figured large in our plans, and our figures grew larger than planned!
We subsisted mostly on seafood and jamón serrano. It was tough, but we survived.

< Mexico February 2004 >
A trip to Michoacán, Mexico, by way of Mexico City, in search of a place to live.
(And ever in search of gastronomic delights.)
Update: We have found a place to live:

< Our Move to Mexico: La Vida Jubilada >
We have moved to Mexico, and I have taken a few photos enroute and here, to show some of the highlights. Many of these photos have to do with foods of Mexico.
< Colonias Roma and Hipódromo-Condesa, México, D.F. >
In late December, 2006, we spent almost two enjoyable weeks staying in Colonia Roma Sur, a pleasant residential area, laced by commercial streets, in the heart of México, DF. Good restaurants abound, but the center of foodie interest is probably the Mercado Medellín, one of the cleanest and most orderly of markets we've visited.
We returned several times and enjoyed exploring this often lovely area, most recently in April, 2008.
(and since then.)

< New Year's Week in Cuernavaca >
We spent a very enjoyable visit, 6 days, with our friends, Amelia and Gustavo, in their home in Cuernavaca, Morelos, México.
I was encouraged to cook and bake as much as I liked, and I availed myself of the opportunity to use therir excellent oven.
Susan learned how to make yogurt from a lactus bulgaricus culture.
We ended our stay with a "farewell dinner" at the restaurante-marisquería, "Mar y Tierra."
