Chapparal yucca

Calabasas, CA

(Hesperoyucca whipplei)

This plant grows for five years or more, sends up one huge flower,
and then usually dies. However, in addition to reproducing by seed,
they also sometimes send out shoots along the ground, and reproduce
by cloning.
