Disassembly for Repair Maxxum 35-105mm Zoom

An intermediate repair project. If you can do this you can repair most any lens.
Before investing any time on these old lenses though, consider that working examples are readily available for less than $50 used. It will take approximately 2-3 hours for disassembly, repair and reassembly, more if any parts are damaged. If elements are damaged or metal parts bent, consider replacement.

This lens is a good example of the craftsmanship that Minolta put into
their AF lenses for the original Maxxum.
The lens mechanism is nearly all metal, machined to very close tolerances.
The complex double floating zoom assembly is similar to that used in several classic lenses,
such as the 70-210mm.
