Hello,
Beautiful shots! I noticed you were using Canon 5D Mark ii for awhile but then Nikon 700 w/the 12-14mm & others. Do you like the Nikon better for your work?
Helen Betts22-Nov-2009 18:28
Hi RK, it's Helen from the Pixelpeep Challenges. I was thinking of getting a D700 some time soon, and was wondering what you think of it? Actually, it was your pictures from Montana that caught my interest and got me started on this idea. Unfortunately, several of my lenses are DX and I understand will not work as well on a full-frame camera, which is really sad because I love my 17-55 and 12-24 mm lenses (but your 14-24 looks superb!). Anyway, would you recommend the D700? How does it compare to your Canon machines?

FWIW I have dug out the D300 for the time being and plan to make better use of it from now on, especially since I don't always have to be carrying the Sony for (Sony) challenges.

Best,

Helen

Beautiful travel photos. you know you should really make an album in this site and show people (friend, family, site, etc ) where you get to travel like I suggested some friends here.

like this gallery:
http://www.trekinu.com/viewtrek.aspx?trkid=k9gus02079dcuh5

its free and you can share with us the places you traveled to on the map. takes 3-4 minutes...
(this is NOT a site to replace PBASE, it's for sharing albums with music and send to friends and share here with your photos)

I have seen your macro shots on pbase and really like your work. I have a new photography forum and we have a section dedicated to macro photography where you can share your work, get comment/critique on it, and can also help others by leaving comment/critique on their work. We have a really great group of guys on there and would love for you to join and share you work too. We also have many other photography sections
Hope to see you on the site

Just wanted to say I loved the pictures you took of France!!! I hope to visit there some day but until then... Your picturs will hold me over. I just recently started my own pbase account but have been watching yours for a while as it is saved in my favorites. Keep up the creative work! Thanks again for sharing your pictures!

Just logging on for the first time...Met you at Sayen Gardens. I wanted to tell you about the upcoming Regatta at MC Park May 26-28. Excellent chance for sports/action shots with lots or color, plus very photo friendly atmosphere...you can get very close and mingle right in among the competitors...Good shooting...Ron

Thanks for your comment on my Crescent Moon (http://www.pbase.com/image/39649305 ). I didn't use a telescope, just the 400mm zoom (http://www.pbase.com/cameras/canon/ef_100-400_45-56l_is ). The picture is a 100% crop. I did use a rather clunky non-astronomical tripod. I should have used a higher ISO to get a brighter image -- I had to go to the RAW version and boost the brightness. A while back I photographed the gibbous moon (http://www.pbase.com/plbh/image/38897855 ), and then most of my shots were over-exposed, but gibbous is much much brighter than crescent.
