sl1600_7.jpg

An antique 19th Century or earlier tsakli painting, mineral pigments depicting,
within a complex triple mandorla, a seated green bodied wrathful form of Vajradhara.
The deity is seated on his multicoloured, pointed petal lotus throne,
a pile of wish-fulfilling jewels (norbu) at its base.
He is holding a four-coloured visvavajra and an inverted bell.

His celestial scarf billows about him. His brows are knitted above his narrowed eyes,
his mouth open over bared teeth.
A single affixing tab to the reverse, as well as the traces of a second tab.
9 x 11.5cm
