Hi Ralph,
I notice from Google Earth October 2016, that the old barracks are partly covered in "tent" like buildings.
Any idea what these are? Also have they demolished the previous buildings?
Hope you can answer.
Regards Paulk

Hi Ralph, I wonder if you would know if there is an archive or registry for past inhabitants of St. Tonis? I have a Canadian friend whose father was in WW2 - in his papers when he died was a "Wehrpass" from a Peter Franken, born 1907, who came from St. Tonis. We would like to send these papers back to his surviving family or relatives. Can you suggest anything? Monica

Hi Ralph, great site and info on Francisca Barracks.
I was with 28th Sigs from 1971 until 1974, when my wife and two kids emigrated to Australia.
I had great times at Francisca and the surrounding towns. We lived in an apartment in Erkalenza Str, Fischeln, south Krefeld. The British Army had a number of apartment there.
Visited the "old" place in 2013. Francisca looking very run down and neglected. What has happened to it now?
Keep up the good work, and occasionally news on Francisca would be appreciated!
Paul

Hi Ralph,

I came across your site by chance ... I was looking up my old regiment (28 signal regiment)I was there in the early 70's and had a wonderful time - It really is a super little town with friendly people. Nice bars and friendly pubs. I saw a familar name, Nicky Williams - I am really hoping that I can find out if he has kept in touch with any of our old "warriors"

By the way - the photo show the camp a little run down - what happened to the old place

Great job with the site

Hallo Ralph,

Freundlicher Respekt Margaret u. Bruce
