Mary Jane Schaeffer 21-Feb-2011 15:36
You are correct. I believe we are related, along with Robert & Liz Burns of England, Andrew Foster of England, and Carol & Bill Burns of British Columbia, Canada. I would like very much to share information with you. My father was Albert Burns Gillam Jr and my grandfather was Albert Burns.

I live in England and have spent the last few months researching my family history.
My Great Uncle was Albert Burns Gillam who was born in Birmingham, England in 1871. He moved to America in 1886 and married Mae Fowler in about 1897. They had four children - Annie (who I think died young), Abert Burns Jr, Rose Margaret and Dorothy. I believe Albert Jr married Mary Musson and had a child named Mary Jane. I think she married a Mr Schaeffer because she is mentioned as a niece to Dorothy Gillam Baker in Dorothy's obituary published in the New York Times in 1990. Albert Jr passed away in November 1958.
I have noticed that a Mary J Burns-Gillam Schaeffer posted a reply to this forum on 19th February 2009.
I would love to contact Mary because I believe we are related.
Can anyone help.
Thank you.

A friend brought one of your photos to my attention. It was marked Burns Gillam Barn, Vermont. My father, A B Gillam Jr, owned and operated a business at that barn from c. 1935 to 1945. I have a photo with ABG & his truck with the same logo in front of the barn and photos I took in 1990s (yours is better). The barn was actually in Duchess Co. NY, but has now burned down.

Hello Richard,

Was wondering if you will send any pictures or post some that was taken while here for Kimberly's wedding? Hope you all are doing well, wish we could have all visited more while here.

Did the Guglielmetti and Mazzocchi families hail from Pradovera, Bettola areas of Pro. di Piacenza? There are large numbers from those parts that emigrated to NYC in the early part of the century and settled on the lower east side (Roosevelt Street) and I'd like to know if they were related to my in-law family.

I am Cynthia Valeo, Rosa Louisa "Rose" Guglielmetti Giorgio's daughter. Rose was Francesca Mazzochi Guglielmetti and Luigi Guglielmetti's daughter. I recognized some of the photos. I really enjoyed browsing through them...thank you. Was the Luigi Mazzochi in the photos the brother of my grandmother Francesca Mazzochi and was he married to Josephine Mazzochi?
