Rick ... how about Mameo! Love all your photo's - takes me back to when i was a young girl with my late twin sister at our cottage R-Cline-Inn in the 50's. I've been hoping to find someone who might know if it's still there! Please contact me if possible, and if not, thank you for the happy trip down memory lane Rick.
Your photography speaks volumes opening up the/my sensibilities with healing aspects and joy. Thank you so much.

Thank you again for your comments. My wife and I really enjoy cruising. It is a perfect vacation for us now that we are retired. I don't mind you asking about my disability. I was wounded in combat in Vietnam 40 some years ago. I am a paraplegic and later lost my legs because of wounds that wouldn't heal. Could have been a lot worse. I have no complaints.

Hi Rick

Enjoyed your pictures especially the ones of Stan's Place, Stan Reynolds that is, as I manage the selling off of what's left of his collection and there is a lot and I just wanted to let you know that we are indeed open for business 8:00 to 5:00 Mon. to Fri. just so people won't think we are closed. We should be open for a little while yet even though we are scraping some things.

Thanks

Forgot!
A link with a few more links, where I explain the use of CombineZM at dyxum.com:http://www.dyxum.com/dforum/some-semi-extrem-macros-at-21-and-also-combinezm-from-tonight_topic9920_post81248.html?KW=combineZM#81248

It's a few years old but the use should be about the same now.

Have fun and cheers

Hi Rick and thanks for your kind comments.

If you are using windows and Photoshop CSx or any other PS CSx plug-in compatible software you can try this, it's very fun and also time-consuming as you can't stop until you tried it on everything you have and all different variations you can only imagine, then when combining with other plug-in, filters and settings you get sold... LOL

Haven't found anything similar for a Mac yet, but I run windows on my Mac just for Fractalius and 1 other great program for image edits, there are Mac versions of similar programs for that but still like this free "Combine ZM" one best. (It's later name is now CombineZM or ...ZP.

A few examples here: http://www.pbase.com/cekari/extreme_macro

Fractalius link:http://www.redfieldplugins.com/filterFractalius.

CombineZM link:http://hadleyweb.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/CZM/News.htm

Some more great images from me and esp. others here:http://www.flickr.com/groups/fractalius/

Think this will keep you and others reading this occupied for a while now, and don't tell your wife who told you about this when she thinks you starting to look like a ghost... :-)

Have a nice weekend with your family.

The "interesting shot" you refer to is (I'm not sure of the correct term in English: "breakwater?) "what is called in French a "wave breaker." They are, at regular intervals, all along the Belgian coast. In my gallery entitled "Knokke" I have an aerial shot of a stretch of beach at low tide with thesebreakwater clearly visible. At high tide they're submerged. Knokke, incidentally, was the last town in Belgium tobe liberated and by Canadians. Every year there is an anniversary (November) ceremony in which a number (ever diminishing ...) of veterans participate.

I have enjoyed viewing your many and varied galleries. My major observation would be that it is not always clear what your want to say about their subject(s).

Hi Rick,
You've got some great shots. Your passion for photography is evident and often well-executed. My only critique, and this comes from my photojournalism background, is to include people more often. Getting a great shot of nature or an object is always wonderful, but a layer of connection and intimacy can be achieved with a great shot of a person. For me, at least, the experience of that encounter lasts longer and is felt on a different level. I often remember the subject's name years and years later. Otherwise, keep up the great work!

Hello Rick,

Thanks for visiting my gallery and taking the time to leave the commits. It's always nice to hear that someone has connected in some way with a photograph of mine, to me that means the most.

Thanks again

Hi Rick,
Love the galleries. Where do you live? It's ironic; I was born and raised in Hamilton so know Port Dover well. Now live in Duncan, BC but did live in Lake Cowichan for about 15 months. Also, just arrived back home from Ottawa where we visited our son and family where he is stationed.

Thank you very much for your kind words on your visit to my Gallery Rick. It may be a little misleading...I joined pBase in 2005 by It wasn't until January of this year that I actually posted any images (Once I got a decent camera; and now I'm hooked)

You have such a diverse collection of splendid images; that I will have to make time for repeat visits..Well Done!

Hi Rick:

Thank you for visiting my pbase site. You can find Commonwealth Club podcasts on the Apple Tunes site, among others. Also ForaTV.com provides video and audio from the events. It is a lot of fun to attend these events live, and meet these interesting personages.

Meanwhile, my visit to your site yielded some wonderful images, particularly those of rural Canada and abandoned towns and structures. You have a grest sense to try to preserve this nearly forgotten history with your camera, and your artistic skill time and again makes those images come alive.

On the Talbot-Lago: The Duke actually had this car prepared for the 1939 24 heures du mans, and completed upwards of 80 laps before spinning out. It is the only race prepared goute d'eau coupe the factory built, and it carries different dimensions than the others, (it's lower and longer). It is still fully fitted for luxury touring, however, with all the leather, wood grain, and metal accents you'd expect in 1938, plus a curved retractable moon roof that Figoni somehow managed to fit inside that circular roof line. 'Best of Show last year at Radnor Hunt Concours d'Elegance.
