I believe this to be a late 1980 or 81 Trek 950 Pro that was custom made for buyer. Serial number O6F8A02. The serial number does not follow the typical Trek numbering for 1981, but rather the older 1976-80 numbering. However it sports features only available on 81 models as listed in the Trek brouchure. http://www.vintage-trek.com/images/trek/Trek81.pdf These include: Columbus main and rear triangles, Cinelli fork crown and bottom bracket, Shimano front and rear dropouts. The frame also has full brazeons: top tube cable guides, two water bottle bosses, down tube shifter bosses, Campy BB cable guides. Sizing is 57.5 cm CtC top tube and 57.5 cm CtT seat tube. The frame was repainted at the Trek factory in 1984 and has a new headbadge and graphics factory installed.
10/12/06 - Found Columbus stamp on fork steerer tube. Also found a serial number matching the frame number engraved on the fork steerer tube, probably done by Trek factory during repainting in 1984 in event the frame and fork were separated. Noticed rifling on inside of fork steerer.
