Dusky Lory

Jurong Birdpark, Singapore

Latin name: Pseudeos fuscata (Blyth 1858). CITES status: CITES II - ENDANGERED.

The Dusky Lory can be found throughout New Guinea, Western Papuan Islands and Japen Island. These birds feed on nectar, pollen and fruits.
They grow to be about 10 inches long and are commonly referred to as the "Halloween" bird because of their orange and brown colors.
