AH-64D Q-16

'Tankbuster' Boeing AH-64D Q-16 seen during take-off. All Dutch Apaches serve with 301 squadron at Gilze-Rijen. This airabse has a long history, going back to March 1910. During WWII, the Luftwaffe used the base (Fliegerhorst Gilze-Rijen) mostly for night fighter operations. Later, Harvards, Ansons, Tiger Moths, NF-5 Freedom Fighters and F-16's were based here, before Gilze-Rijen became the only helicopter base in the Netherlands a few years back. Alouette 3's, Apaches, Cougars and Chinooks are now present.
