Spotted while walking in the forest bordering our hotel. At first, I thought I’d spotted a
Northern Flicker, which we see at home in Southwestern Ontario. Apparently, some do migrate
to Costa Rica. However, I later identified this bird as a Hoffman’s Woodpecker, which is
found only in parts of Central America.
