This is a display of a local landowner's ignorance about their local wildlife.
Coyotes used to be shot and hung from barbed wire fences based on the ridiculous belief that it would somehow keep other Coyotes from coming into an area.
This was based on the discredited claim that Coyotes pose a threat to livestock (in spite of decades of science showing they don't).
Further scientific data has shown that shooting Coyotes does not diminish their local population density/size. Female Coyotes just have more pups when populations are lower and the population rebounds within a year or two.
