All right, all right, you can stop now!!! Just when I think the Wave Gallery can’t get any better, you upload another. Now you’re just showing off! LOL.

Crazy thing is, we all know there are boatloads more you haven’t even processed. You’ve really found your grove. GREAT STUFF!! jc

You have some unique and beautiful work here! The panned slow shutter speed shots are some of the best wave images I have seen. I wouldn't say this easily, but I think they are art gallery quality, I hope you are exhibiting them!

your surfing shots are excellent, I really like the slow shutter speed shots the best. are those hand held?
thanks,

hi david ,fantastic photos :) well done , Mind if i ask a bit of advice . First please look and browse some of my surf shots on www.pbase.com/ricky34
We seem to have bad light here in the uk , how can i make my shots as sharp as your , these are the settings i use on my D200 with a sigma 170-500mm . AF-C , Apurtue , Lock on /Short , Iso 100-300 , and try and step up to about 1/1000 when shooting , i aslo shoot in raw and use the back AF-on button to focus , any advice on settings and tips would be very very welcome , keep up the good work , reagrds Ricky , bournemouth , england !

Just revisited your volleyball shots from sb 2005! Such an incredible gallery! You made capturing the hitter or blocker behind the net (in perfect focus) look easy. You had your A game that day! Oh ya, not to shabby of surfing shots either. C6J2144.jpg is all time baby!!! Keep it up! jc

Hi there,

You have some great surf shots in your gallery and if you don’t already, you should try to get some published. I’ve seen lesser photos getting covers.

Keep on the good work.

Hello David. I had a look at the NSL Ca Cup 2005 contest photos you sent the link to. Well made. As you wrote, you had midday shooting conditions but that is the way contests are. As can be seen in your Southern California Surfing gallery, it is always nice when you can choose the day, place and time to shoot. You have some real beauties there.

Hi David, Just checking out your most recent additions. Very impressive. Judy brought one of your "reject" surf pictures into lab (she found it in your garbage can). I had to see what the "first cut" looked like if that was a reject.

Great photos. Your hobby could be your profession.

Thanks for the kind words, David. I still have a lot to learn to master the beast that is the 500 f/4. I feel like I'm not using it to its potential. And I couldn't have done it without your little nuggets of wisdom. :-D When is our next meetup?
