Came across your profile looking for pics of Horton Creek. Fantastic stuff man. Would you be willing to divulge the location of your most recent Mogollon Rim pics, the ones with your wife/girlfriend/friend on the rock outcropping (/scorpius/image/136135366)?

Here's a site that has 400 F2.8 + TC20 III test shots in case you're still interested.

naturalart dot ca and go to bio then field tests, then converter link at bottom. Enjoy.

I'm not a member so I had to post it this way.

Thanks for the comments on my recent airshow images. I've been a fan of your work as well - your most recent Blue Angels shots are stunning. I'll be in Sedona this weekend - if you have any suggestions on great photo spots, please let me know.

Cheers,

Good morning and my best regards from Madeira island, Portugal. I discovered your work while searching the internet for informations regarding the Nikon D300 and D700 operational performances. Personal opinions regarding your work aside (although I've found all the galleries really beautiful), I've noticed your evolution over the times with the Nikon equipment. First with the D70, next with the D40X and the D300 and the latest work is already done with the D700 (forgive me if I didn't pay attention and one or two might be missing). That evolution in equipment gives you a strong knowledge, I imagine, in the Nikon digital world. And there lies the core of my comment: your advice. I've been shooting digitally with a Nikon D40X for the past year (and before that, only film) and I'm now thinking to upgrade to a newer body, more "professional" so to speak, and leaving for the D40X the role of back-up. Being the D700 out of reach for the moment, I've decided for the D300 that we can buy in Europe now for 1200 euros (quite a big diference from the 1900 euros it costed one year ago). Although, for digital standards, it's already a jurassic body, it seems to be a very reliable piece of equipment. And, as your good photos show us, capable of great achievements in outdoors, in landscapes, in portraits and (so it seems) in low light. Since I'm going to use it mostly in the kind of photography that I've mentioned above, what do you think about my decision? Is she up for the job, or am I going the be defrauded later on and wish I've bought the D700 instead? What are your personal remarks and opinion about this body?
Thank you so much for your patiente and attention.
My best wishes.

Thank you for your wonderful photographs.
I am a newcomer to the English Guild of Aviation Artists and I would love to be able to use one of your photographs as a basis for an oil painting. We have Fairford Airbase nearby in Wiltshire and it uses B-52's. I am a useless photographer. You can have a peek at my work (please) at www.darknesstolight.co.uk
I would be willing to send you a print of one of my locomotives (or the F-14's) in exchange for your kinfd permission. Best wishes Fredereick James Taylor

William-L, yes no prob's... I uploaded 3x full-size images at:http://www.pbase.com/scorpius/my_equipment. The D700 + 14-24 makes for an excellent landscape setup. best... dj ;)

Thanks much for the D700 posts - Is there a way I could view one D700 landscape photo at full size. Here's why - I am debating relative value (especially in outdoor-landscape) of D700 vs the new Canon 5D MKII 21mp. Two things are important in the comparison to me Dynamic Range and Detail/Sharpness. Either choice represents a costly path for me of invenstments in body and new lens. So, I don't want to switch after I commit. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
