Great shots - low to the water and on level with the birds.

I am new to Nikon (Canon user till April) and thougth of using a kayak this summer to take pictures with my D2X and 70-200 VR. Here at Nikon Cafe people I ak say to write to you. Can you give me advise of kayaks for lakes here in NH? I went to a demo and tried Wilderness 12 foot Pungo - too slow, a Perception Arcadia - too high - and a Current Design Kestrel - seemed good. Of course, EMS doesn't have that model in stock and doesn't know when it will get them.

I don't know if you know about those models - I guess I am interested in a low volume kayak - about 12 feet - and in the rec touring category. Any thoughts?

Any advise at all would be appreciated.

Hi, Found your site on a search engine, my namesake and I love photography, but only a beginner. Luv your pictures - what a coincidence. I am in England, maybe you would like to email me just out of interest, swop a few details see if there are any other likenesses??
Kirby Allen 01-Aug-2005 20:40
Wow - you are a very talented artist!

I came across your photos by accident after doing a Google search for "Kayaking in Toronto." I then had no choice but to spend the next 2 hours looking at all of your great photos. Thanks for posting them on the web.

"Moss Beach Sunset" is probably my favourite photo, and I doubt it's even possible to capture the beauty of the Pacific Coast Highway any better than you did with this shot. I would love to get a large print of this photo, and perhaps a few others as well. Do you sell your photos? If not, could I have your permission to print out the jpg in order to mount it?

I was surprised that you and I have been to so many of the same places and have so many of the same interests. Your photos really brought back some good memories and sometimes even stirred up deeper emotions. Thanks again.

Sandra, I had not visited you site in some time and was again inspired by your work. You are a real talent. How much processing are you doing on your shots and what program are you using? Finally, are you shooting RAW or Jpeg? Again, thank you for sharing your talents. Peter

Hi again. We met today by Donut Island. Like your work. Definitly I'd be interested in the software. I'll have to send you some of the pics of the harbour, and sailing that I've taken. I'm going to see if I can get some work filming and taking stills of people and their boats in and around the harbour.
I have a silver tip persian. I've had him since he was a kitten. He is six now. Exact same flat adorable face. Wow. I'll send you some pics of Mersey. I named him after the river that flows between Liverpool and the Wirral.
Definatly keep in touch. Glad I could be of assistance and save your ass. (I fixed her inflatable cushion that she sits on in her kayak which had developed a leak, deflated and her poor bum was getting wet, and sore with all that patient paddling around, and looking for good shots. I happend to have a repair kit (special tape) in my bits and tackle box for just such things on my sailboat, which did the trick of fixing, hopefully perminently, the seat. I was at anchor and Sandra was passing by and we had a chance encounter. I have recently taken up photo on a professional basis.)
Realy super kit. Nice to see someone so well prepared, and knowledgable. Been a pleasure and hope to meet up again. Will be at anchor in Toronto Harbour most of the summer.
You will find a few sailboats in around Donut Island over the summer. Mostly serious sailors like myself know about the spot. The cruising variety mostly. They are the ones you want to get to know. The interesting ones. Cheers.

Sandra

My visit to your galleries was a pleasure. The story of the AVRO is sad. I vaguely recall reading about it in the newspapers while I was still in Jamaica.
Aloha and best wishes

Greatimages Sandi. From the shooting locations of your pictures, your camera must have 100,000 miles on it by now. Keep up the good work and always enjoy your comments...Dave

Great Macro Photos makes me want to buy a Nikon Cool Pix. Not sure on the 995 hear it is not as good as the 990. Any ideas I want ti make claymation movies too. Macro and white balance important.
