THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIEW OF THE WORLD. Not sure of the hours you have spent just posting these photos. We took over 17,000 in 3 months. Your work is amazing. This has to be over a year of just posting this.... Is this a program you purchased to do this with? it is so elementary and each to search.

Hi Stan, Your pictures are absolutely amazing. Would take days to look at all of them but I will eventually. Your name though takes me back to Fairfield Elementary in Jacksonville, fl. Did you go there? Seems I remember you most in 5th, 6th and 7th grades. If, it is you. Ms. Winship, Ms Cason or Cassidy or something like that and then Mr Plant. Apologize for this message. It is far from your travels but just wondering if you are the classmate from Fairfield. My daughter is also in to photography and has quite a collection of pictures from south florida and even some she has taken here on my property of beautiful black bears. (I live in Tallahassee). My email is justjudy42@gmail.com

Hi, Stan!
Dad sends me all of your updates. I love your photos. My husband and I plan to retire in 4 years and want to do the same thing - get an RV and just travel. I plan on keeping a similar travel journal to yours. I've become a painter over the years and have marked several of your photos to make paintings from. If they turn out well, I'll let you know! I think my favorites of all your photos are the slot canyons in Utah. That's going to be my first destination. Keep traveling and keeping sending those pics!

Stan - I'm writing a book on glaciers of northwest North America and came across your photo of Bear Glacier online. Would it be possible to reproduce that photo in my book, with appropriate credit of course?
Dave Barnes19-Oct-2011 22:55
Wow Stan you have captured some magnificent stuff here. I visit the US as often as possible and my wife and I plan to tour in a camper when we retire - now you have whetted our appetite even more! Great diversity in your galleries.

Thanks for sharing.

Regards Dave.

Is there a possibility to focus on a nest , for example , leave the camera unattended and that it should take a photo when the subject , a bird , will be in focus ? This is for a digital camera and lens combo .
Chris 11-Feb-2011 23:46
Stan,
I found my way here from POTN (GovMule). This is a fantastic travel portfolio. I was searching Cottonwood Canyon Rd,and there you were again ! GREAT images !!!

i joined the forum just so i could compliment your work! wow! what a magnificent planet on which we all survive AND what a beautifully artistic eye you have used to capture that magnificence... being an RV traveler myself, and just thinking of all the logistics that have gone in to simply getting everywhere you have managed to visit in order to take those many perfect pictures is some feat...i'm in awe...and they are ALL so beautiful...thank you for sharing the things you have seen with all of us! i imagine the thrill has been quite rewarding tho, to capture so much and have those memories to enjoy for ever. my compliments to you for everything that went into committing such beauty to 1's and 0's (that's another mind bender too...binary beauty...blows my mind LOL)

Hi Stan,

I really enjoyed your galleries. Your composition is way over the top. We are planning a 14 week trip this may, through the south, up the east coast to Canada, down through Michigan to Colorado and back to No. Calif. Your pictures have extended the trip ! Art and Pat

What a great gallery. These pictures show a small cross section of such a beautiful country. Who would ever want to live any where else.

My wife and I plan to visit southern Utah in early June 2009. We sincerely enjoyed your pictures. Thank you!

Hi Stan! Your pictures are wonderful! What kind of camera do you have? I have been wanting to get a good camera but not sure what to get (one that will not put me in the poor house - I'm already there!)
We will be traveling back to Hilton Head for Spring Break and I am wanting to visit some of the places you did and take my own pictures. We will be staying in Sea Pines on HHI - any suggestions on where to visit for pictures? I would love to visit some of those waterfalls but I think they would be too far away.

A small Savannah breakfast inn wants to post photos of Savannah, as seen by Savannah's visitors. Would you grant permission for your image # 95093966 to be posted on the inn's web site?

Stan, your photos are awesome....and I like the story of how you traveled the US in a motorhome for 6 years....I dream of doing that someday...your photos inspire me to do sooner rather than later...Thanks, Kelly

What states do you need to go to to fill out the WHOLE.

Compliments on your fine presentations. They brighten the dark days of winter when I am sitting at 7000' with snow up to my bumpus and inspire me to haul my trailer to the Southwest for a week or two.

Love your photos. The Cresred Butte shots make me want to go back. The Crystal mill, however, is not a mill. It was a powerhouse. The mill is gone.

Hi Stan,
We are from The Netherlands.
We saw your pics from Canada in 2006 .
We were very impressed, in that year we visited almost all the places were you shot your pics.
Now we have the same beautifull pics.

Hi Stan,
Saw a shot on Canon Forum of yours and wandered in to your gallery. Tremendous. Living the dream. I'm an old construction worker originally from Libby, Montana. I see you discovered Libby and Kootenai Falls. One of our pastimes when we were kids was chipping iron pyrites out of the rock below the swinging bridge. Did you visit the Heritage Museum? Love your Glacier Park shots. That is still my favorite park although I just discovered the beauty of Arches and Canyonlands in Utah a couple weeks ago. Keep living the dream! I have a few more years to go. Do you drag a Jeep with you for access to the back country?
Mike (Jeepin)

Your photos are amazing!!!! What a wonderful way to spend an overcast Ohio winter day just cruising your pictures. They are wonderful reminders that this is what my husband and I plan on doing next year if everything goes ok. I want to see all these places in person but if I don't get to do it right away your pictures will do the trick. You are a fantastic photographer. Thanks for sharing the beauty of our world.

Stan,

Thanks for checking in. I have been away from POTN for a while. I've been keeping busy over at istockphoto.com. It's a really nice community of photographers at istock, and I am starting to make some money with it. POTN is great, but I have been too busy to keep up over there. I still drop by POTN from time to time and see what is getting posted. There are some great tutorials in the forums.

Wish I could say I am planning a photo trip, but I am not. Right now I am concentrating on getting hired at a major airline. Since 9/11 no one has been hiring, but things are finally turning around now. A lot of my free time has been eaten up attending career fairs. Maybe this will be my year.

Keep in touch.

Dave

Ahh...you are the only one that I have ever seen that has the Church of the Transfiguration in Grand Teton National Park. I use the inside window view (the one I took) with the cross as my screensaver. I have never seen anyone else with it :-) Nice shots of New Mexico where I live also!

Thanks for stopping by at my Galleries, Stan. You have some very beautiful galleries on your site. Liked the Western and Alaskan galleries. I was at Denali last summer. There were several large forest fires at the time causing heavy smoke and haze at Denali. Could not see the mountain at all at Wonder Lake. Hope to make it to Yellowstone this year.

Thanks for sharing.

You must have been taking images for a while now. Great work. I noticed that you have listed a DigRebel and lenses as equipment on the canon digital photography forum (triggered me to check out your galleries). What other equipment are you using?
