Possibly the most cooperative bird I've ever photographed; we were able to study it from a canoe, as long as we wanted, from about 5 feet away. It had the buffy coloring of a juvenile white-rumped, similar to a least sandpiper, which I first mistook it for. Dark legs, long primaries, larger overall size, & various color & pattern details distinguish it from a least.
