7th April 2007 - I've now laid the single course of bricks to take us up to damp-proof course. You can see the air bricks that allow a flow of air through the under floor space. You can also see the gaps in the 3 internal rows of bricks that allow air to floor right through the building. The centre row of bricks will support the internal wall between the rooms. The other two rows of bricks are to support the centre of the floor joists which will run the length of the building. The next stage is to prepare the 4"x2" timber wall plates and the 6"x2" frame that will carry the joists.
